Our story

From the Breton slaughterhouse to the plucker finger specialist

A history born in poultry slaughterhouses

The story begins in the 1950s, when the Le Meaux family built a poultry slaughterhouse in Canihuel, at the heart of France's poultry basin. For several decades, the family business grew, employed up to 50 people, and gained deep knowledge of slaughterhouse operations and plucking constraints

1986: From slaughterhouse work to plucker fingers

Michel Le Meaux acquires a small company specialized in rubber plucker fingers. Doigt de Plumeuse Le Meaux (DPLM) sets up in the former slaughterhouse premises: the family puts its field experience at the service of a single objective, improving plucking performance.

1992–2000: Industrialization and birth of Plumatech

In 1992, Franck and Cathy Le Meaux take over DPLM and modernize the company: reformulation of products, commercial structuring, and a clear industrial vision. In 2000, DPLM becomes Plumatech, opens up to exports, and launches a benchmark innovation: 1 color = 1 hardness, still a standard in many slaughterhouses today.

2000–2025: Innovations for performance

For over 20 years, Plumatech has developed and patented new finger models to support increased production rates and hygiene requirements: PL fingers with grippers, high-performance PL2 finger, then Platech in 2025, a tray solution enabling tool-free finger changes and easier decontamination.
Each innovation stems from the same approach: listening to slaughterhouse needs and turning field feedback into concrete solutions.

A Breton, family-owned company focused on the world

In 2013, Plumatech settles into a modern factory in Plaintel (22) to support its growth in France and internationally.

The new generation gradually joins the company, perpetuating the family spirit while strengthening R&D, industrialization, and export development. Today, Plumatech is present in many countries and recognized for the quality of its products, its innovation capacity, and its historical knowledge of the poultry sector.
